个人或企事业单位可以凭借本人有效证件或单位证明文件去银行直接兑换外币。外币兑换有年度总额限制，我国对于个人每年兑换外币是有限制的，每次兑换，银行会登陆外汇管理系统进行登记和查询，由外汇管理局统一管理。现在美元是等值5万都可以在银行办理。但有些银行没有资格，建议去中国银行或交通银行。从而也使银行兑换外币英语成为银行业务中不可或缺的一部分。
Situation 情景：
It is the first time that Jones has been to China. She wants to exchange her US dollars for Chinese money. However, she does not know Chinese. She asks the bank clerk for help.
琼斯第一次来中国所以想去银行把一些美元兑换成人民币，但由于语言不通，她只能求助于银行工作人员。
Jones: Good morning, sir. I just came to China and I can't read Chinese. Could you please help me?
琼斯：你好，先生。我刚到中国来不认识汉字，你能帮我个忙吗？
Bank Clerk: My pleasure. What can I do for you?
职员：很高兴为您服务，我能帮您做什么？
Jones: Oh, I want to change some money, but I do not know how to fill out the exchange form.
琼斯：啊，我想兑换些钱，但不知道怎样填写兑换单。
Bank Clerk: Would you mind showing me your passport? Also, please write down your name on the paper.
银行职员：您能把您的护照给我吗？并且，请把您的名字写在这张纸上。
Jones: Here you are. My name is Jones.
琼斯：给你护照和姓名，我叫琼斯。
Bank Clerk: Alright. I will fill out the exchange form for you now. You can take a seat over there for a moment.

Jones: Sure. Thanks.

Bank Clerk: Hello, Ms. Jones. Are you planning to reconvert your unused Chinese money back into American dollars?

Jones: Yes, if I have some left.
琼斯：是的，如果还有剩余的话。
Bank Clerk: If I may offer a suggestion, please keep your exchange form.

Jones: OK, I will. Thank you.
琼斯：好的。谢谢。
Bank Clerk: You are welcome.
银行职员：不用谢。
